First Visit

Office Hours: Monday - Thursday  8am - 1pm and 2:15pm - 5pm
                       Friday 8am - 12pm

We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to the office. During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We understand that each patient’s orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve. Our goal is to answer all of your questions regarding your orthodontic treatment at this first appointment; therefore, we combine the initial examination along with presentation of the treatment plan. That is why you are with us an hour to an hour and a half; you are not waiting-We are ready for you right at your reserved appointment time!

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by one of our team members who will gather the completed patient information forms, dental insurance details and any other pertinent information. We will take you on a tour of the office, take some digital x-rays and photographs, begin getting to know you.

Our Treatment Coordinator will be with you every step of the way. Dr Tadej will do a thorough orthodontic examination and recommend if or when orthodontic treatment will be necessary. This is your opportunity to get to know Dr. Tadej, have all of your questions and concerns answered, and discuss the treatment plan that is best for you.

During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask many questions as well.

  •  Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
  •  Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
  •  What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
  •  Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
  •  How long will treatment take?
  •  How much will it cost?
  •  Will insurance cover a portion of the cost and what are my payment options?

Our Treatment Coordinator will review the treatment plan with you. We use digital images to help explain the problems, and we have visual aides to help you understand what orthodontic appliances look like and how they work. We also have a collection of before and after photographs of patients with similar orthodontic problems that have been corrected. We will review the financial aspects of your orthodontic care. We offer flexible financial arrangements that will be suited to your individual circumstances, to pay for your orthodontic treatment. We also accept assignment of benefit from many Insurance plans and file the necessary papers with the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

If you are ready for treatment, we can start that day with diagnostic records that consist of state-of-the-art digital photographs and X-rays. Also, scans of the teeth are taken and digital images are created. Diagnostic records allow Dr. Tadej to make the “blueprint” for your treatment, and assure that no small details are overlooked. Depending on the complexity of the treatment, we may need to schedule a separate appointment to discuss your treatment plan in detail.

After your initial phone call to the office, we will be sending you a “new patient welcome packet.” It will contain a letter about Dr. Tadej and our office, a health history form, a patient information form and a map with directions to our office. Our office policy requires that a parent or legal guardian must be present at the consultation appointment.
